Public Saftey Notice from PSEGLI: "Keep these safety tips in mind: If you see ANY downed wire, assume it is a live electric wire. Stay away from it, keep others away and call us immediately, anytime at1‑800‑490‑0075. If a wire falls on a vehicle, occupants should stay in the vehicle until help arrives. After the storm, parents should check for downed wires in areas where children might play. NEVER operate any gasoline powered engine, such as a generator or snow blower, in an enclosed space, including an open garage. Carbon monoxide, a colorless, odorless and potentially deadly gas can be produced. Use a broom to clear snow from utility meters – NEVER use a shovel. Be mindful of ice above meters that could fall onto them. Make sure everyone in the family is prepared and knows what to do if there is an emergency.
